ATALIE WILMOTH : PRINCIPAL - JAZZ, HIP HOP, LATIN FIT, SALSA/LATIN, ZUMBA

Atalie is a professional dancer with over 23 years dance experience. Atalie keeps up-to-date with the latest dance crazes from around the world to create performances that viewers remember making her a very versatile dancer & instructor.

  • Latin styles including Salsa, Bachata
  • Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary
  • Latinfit
  • Zumba. Official member of the Zumba Instructor Network

Choreographer

  • Choreographed and performed in major Sydney musical, Valentino, starring Tiffany Wood and Normie Rowe 2008/9
  • Choreographed Hyundai TVC in Korea, taking Newcastle dancers who auditioned along with Sydney dancers to Seoul for filming 2008
  • Choreographed and Performed for Indian Fashion Week closing ceremony, New Deli, India 2007
  • Choreographed and Performed many corporate shows throughout Sydney and Australia

  • Performed for Crown Prince Frederick and Princess Mary of Denmark in Hong Kong 2009
  • Sings with Afro Moses Funk Reggae at various venues including The Basement Sydney
  • Featured on ABC's Strictly Dancing (hosted by Paul McDermott) with her salsa partner Cristo

  • Danced in cast on Star Cruises Cruise Lines, Singapore and Hong Kong

  • Assistant Choreographer at Cameleon Marivale Resort, Cancun, Mexico

Atalie is also represented by Newcastle's Models & Actors featuring in many commercials & promotions.

ISHTAR MOROSI - JAMAICAN DANCEHALL, CONTEMPORARY

Inspired by movies such as "Fame" and "Flashdance", Ishtar started dancing at the tender age of 4 years old in her hometown, Canberra.

Majoring in Contemporary Dance, Ishtar has always been a very versatile dancer and has performed in many different styles from Musical Theatre in the Act One, Scene One production of Bob Fosse's "Chicago" in 2004 to Scottish dancing in the "Fall Down" film clip for Perth band Jebediah.

Training:

  • Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap and Funk/Hip Hop
  • Traditional Filipino dance led to Ishtar being involved in numerous productions and performances in local and national dance festivals and eisteddfods
  • Ishtar furthered her dance training by studying at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) where she was accepted into the Bachelor of Arts (Dance) program in 2001

  • Jamaican Dancehall
  • Contemporary

Dance Performances have included:

  • Musical Theatre in the Act One, Scene One production of Bob Fosse's "Chicago" in 2004

Ishtar has also been in numerous performances with top Australian Contemporary choreographers Justin Rutzou, Olivia Millard and Becky Hilton as well as various corporate events through Dance Central Sydney and has choreographed routines for competitors on the ABC TV's "Strictly Dancing".

Ishtar's most recent addition to her repertoire of dance styles is Jamaican Dancehall which she learned from Sydney's top Afro-Contemporary/ Dancehall choreographer and performer, Maya Martinez. Ishtar looks forward to bringing this exhilarating style to Newcastle dancers.

JACKIE PARKER - PIVOT KIDS (BABY MOVEMENT & FUNKY KICKS), FUNK/HIP HOP

She studied Classical Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Jamaican Dancehall.
Jackie has performed for Corporate performances for many major companies and events. Jackie's style and bubbly personality makes her the perfect dance teacher and a gentle and caring Pivot Kids teacher.

A Law Clerk by day, Jackie brings that maturity to her teaching the kids. Dancing is also her way to release a fun side making her a great role model and all round inspiring person who we all love.

Dance Performances have included:

  • Private functions including Bellydancing, Bollywood & African freestyle
  • Charity & Corporate events

ANDREW BURROWS AKA PEPC - HIP HOP / POPPING / BREAKDANCE / ZUMBA

Andy has been Breakdancing since he could walk, according to his mother!

His incredible energy and passion is infectious and makes him extremely popular with the kids he teaches. Andrew has been featured on Optus Ads as a Breakdancing Penguin and in many corporate performances throughout NSW.

Recently returned from Mexico, Andy has so much passion for dance to share with his students.

JANICE - CONTEMPORARY

Janice graduated from the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in dance where she majored in Contemporary Dance. Since then Janice has worked as a dancer, actor, choreographer and teacher in a number of theaters and schools around Australia.

Janice has extensive experience working with children and adults, actors studying physical theater as well as choreography for contemporary dance and musical theater and judging Rock Eisteddfod and JRock for the past 5 years in Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong.

Janice has been teaching and dancing with Pivot Studio since 2008. She teaches ballet and Contemporary on a Monday night which is the highlight if her week!

 
 

DANI MARIE COLLINS - CLASSICAL, CONTEMPORARY,JAZZ,FUNK, HIP HOP

Dani Marie has been dancing for many years. AS a local Newcastle girl Dani trained at Dance Image Studios and Pullars Tap Studio. In 2006 at 16 years Dani made the big move to Sydney to attend the famous Brent Street Studios and start her career as a dancer.

In 2007 Dani completed the fulltime performing Art Course (Certificate IV) at Brent Street. Since completing her fulltime Performing Arts Course Dani has managed to travel and work with some of the best choreographers in the entertainment industry including Matt Lee, Cameron Mitchel, Sahara Boulter and many more. In 2008 Dani traveled to LA to compete in world championships and train at The Edge Dance Academy. In 2008 Dani also performed in Macau for 8 months as a professional dancer.

Dani has also been featured as a professional dancer on Channel 10, Kerry Anne, Guy Sebastian film clips, Ed Hardy Promotions and many more gigs and performances in Sydney and Newcastle. Now undertaking many corporate professional performances for Pivot.

KAEYLA WILMOTH - B/EDUCATION HONS CURTIN UNIVERSITY

Kaeyla was trained in Classical, Jazz, Hip Hop/funk dance and has gone on to perform in shows in Japan, Mexico, and many corporate productions throughout Australia for Coca Cola, McDonalds and many many more.

Not only a very polished performer, but Kaeyla is also an amazing teacher, bringing her high school teaching skills into the dance studio where she teaches with passion and great care for the kids.

Kaeyla consults on all Pivot Kids classes to help us design the best syllabus possible for both a fun positive focus and also for the kids to gain great technique and skills. Kaeyla’s energy and passion for what she does is evident to everyone who watches her perform or teach.

ARNALDO - SALSA / FORRO

Arnaldo  has been in Australia for only a couple of years, in his home country of Brasil Arnaldo had a slight 'obsession' with the beautiful dance called Forro, attending and teaching classes and going to Forro night clubs every night of the week. This dance is very similar to Salsa and hugely popular in Brasil. It is a partner dance which can be very romantic. Arnaldo is absolutely passionate about dance but also sees it as something that should be fun and never intimidating or 'posey'. Dance should be for everyone and Arnaldo's fun and caring manner make learning from him an absolute pleasure. Pivot Studio is lucky to have Arnaldo's skills as there are not many experienced Forro teachers in Australia.

 

DAVID - BALLROOM

Dave has developed a strong and passionate attitude about Ballroom dancing throughout his 20 years of training, competing in competitions around the country and dancing socially with his friends. His drive for dancing started at a young age when his mother started teaching him the basics and introduced him to Ballroom lessons. At the age of 11 David won the NSW State Championships and at the age of 15 was asked to perform in the closing ceremony of the 200 Sydney Olympic Games. David dances with his great-grandmother and mother and is enthusiastic to share his enjoyment and love for Ballroom dancing. David has his own style for teaching ballroom dancing being street and casual with some technique, the more you do it the more you have fun!

 
 

LIJA TURNER - CARROLL  - TAP, ZUMBA, JAZZ, HIP HOP

Lija has been dancing since the age of 6 and was trained in Jazz (funky) and Tap. Lija studied Tap dance under the tuition of original ‘Tap Dog’ Darren Disney for many years with whom she became an assistant teacher for. Lija has also studied Hip Hop, Break, Ballet, Jamaican Dance hall, African salsa, Hawaiian and many more.

Lija has competed in a number of dance eisteddfods, participating in festivals and charity events such as Mattara festival, Newcastle show, Federation Parade in Sydney, corporate functions, nightclub performances, Sydney festivals, costume/ suit work, Parkinson’s disease awareness nights along with many others.

Lija’s greatest dancing highlight was being one of two hundred dancers chosen by Dein Perry to perform with the ‘Tap Dogs’ in the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games in 2000. She has also taken part in many stage shows and realizes the importance of stage presence, confidence, pride, teamwork, health and fitness as well as the nerves, adrenalin and fun that go with it. NOW a qualified ZUMBA instructor and Zumba Instructor GOLD. Bringing fun and fitness to so many people has been such a joy for her. You can also see Lija perform with Afro Moses and his Band dancing throughout Newcastle/ Syd where I bring a fusion of African, Jamaican and dancehall come alive on stage.

CWLIA  - FUNK / JAZZ

Celia has 10 years teaching experience in Beijing, in Funk jazz styles of dance, she has great enthusiasm for choreography and is a passionate and fun teacher, Celia was hired by many TV programs and large companies in China to perform, she is excited about bringing her stuyle to Newcastle.
