	PIVOT CLOSES OVER CHRISTMAS BREAK CLASSES RESUME IN 09 All dance classes resume on Monday 5th January, 2009 with Latin nights at MJ Finnegans. 	SPECIAL GUEST FOR LATIN DANCERS Special guest teacher for Latin will be Arnaldo, direct from Brazil, he is teaching for 4 weeks on Monday nights at MJ Finnegans. He teaches a combination of Brazillian dance styles with passion and a whole lotta fun. The styles he teaches are a mixture of Zouk, Gafiera and Tango. Don't worry if this sounds like an exotic disease, I promise it is catching, but it's healthy, sexy and alot of fun. Don't miss the opportunity to learn off a latin god!! Beginner 6pm, Intermediate 7pm ( If you've danced Salsa etc before come to this class)
	ATALIE GOES TO HONG KONG While in Hong Kong she'll be performing in Corporate productions for Company Christmas Functions and conferences. It'll include a large variety of shows, Brazillian, Salsa, Contemporary & Adagio.

	PIVOT CHRISTMAS PARTY - WED 12TH NOV! The Pivot Christmas Party is on Wednesday November 12th! Lots of music, dance floor shows, Free Zouk Lesson (Brazillian partner dance style), Salsa, Hip Hop and much more. So put that date in the diaries more details to come....
	AFRO MOSES AT LIVESITES - FRI 14TH OCT On Friday 14th November pivot is performing with Afro Moses at Livesites Honeysuckle. Come in and join this free night out under the stars with Reggae, Reggaeton and dancehall moves. Free dance class at 6pm, band on till 9pm. Free dancing in the streets!!!! The next Friday 21st November will be the Bolly Belly Night Bollywood and Belly dance!! O'Neil will teach the Bollywood, come and have a ball with O'Neil's fun dance moves at 6pm.
	ON THE LOOK OUT FOR SEXY DANCE MOVES? Anyone looking for places to go to dance your sexy latin moves there is a Latin night coming up at The Brewery Fri 31st October 2008. La Pena Latin Society at the University of Newcastle is hosting a Latin night on Friday 7th Nov @ The Bar on The Hill, these nights are great fun things kick off at around 8pm. 	PIVOT PARTY Friday 12th September claimed another successful Pivot Party. Atalie demonstrated a Zouk Lambada class and plenty of performances including Jamaican Dancehall, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary & Breakdancing! We were also blessed to have Circus Avalon perform some exciting tricks for us that included the Hoola Hoop. Come along to the next party on 28 November! 	BEC TAKES ON THE JETS! Rebecca Pollard, who has been learning with Pivot for 4 years and dancing professionally with Atalie for 2 years, is now teaching and choreographing for the Jets Bombers Dance Squad. Bec's energetic dance style and unbelievable passion for what she does has led to a natural progression from dancer to teacher and choreographer. We are getting great feedback about the brilliant job Bec is doing at The Jets.
	PIVOT LAUNCH For dancers looking to take it to the next level... Are you 15 yrs and above and looking to get that extra level for auditions or agents? Are you looking to take on that extra challenge for your Dance skill and fitness in a caring, friendly environment. Pivot Launch is a new program offering: 1 private lesson per week Unlimited Pivot Studio classes This amounts to possibly 10 hours of dancing per week! Classes include: Advanced Hip Hop Advanced Jazz Int/Advanced Contemporary Jamaican Dancehall Advanced salsa/ partner dance Latinfit Breakdance Tap All this for $70 per week! A full one hour private technical lesson plus unlimited classes. The Pivot Launch dancers will also get performance experience and introduction to Sydney agencies. 	Generation Next Hair Show 08 Award Winning Newcastle Hairdresser, Lee Nesbitt of Beaumont On Beaumont produced something a little bit different at the largest hair expo in Australia on the weekend. Lee enlisted the help of Atalie Wilmoth, choreographer from Pivot Studio, to create a performance that took the Sydney audience by storm. The only hair dresser to cut a model's hair live on stage, Lee wowed the crowd, by cutting a partly shaven, angular design on the model in just 2 minutes, leaving the stage to huge applause as the dancers, Atalie Wilmoth, Rebecca Pollard, Jackie Parker and Sam Campbell all of Newcastle's Pivot Studio, took the stage. 	AUDITIONS Models and Actors Talent Management Newcastle is looking for dancers for an audition in Melbourne on July 15th, dancers need to be 18-24yrs old. They may not need to travel there, but I need photos and CVs, even if you don't have a CV just good photos will be great. At this stage I'm not sure what style of dancing needed, so if anyone is interested send through you photos to me and I'll get back to you asap. 	BACHATA COURSE A Bachata Course is starting Thursday 17th July for 8 weeks. All you need for this is a knowledge of the basic Bachata step, which if you've danced at all before you'll pick up in 5 minutes anyway! Bachata is not a difficult step, and it can have some beautiful combinations, some people dance this dance in a really funky sexy way, others make it very smooth almost tango like! Originating in the Dominican Republic, Bachata was danced to escape the day to day grind and have fun with friends. This is a beautiful style that fits perfectly with salsa go-ers. We'll cover some difficult combinations as well in this course for those of you who'd like a little more challenge. 	PARTYING WITH THE DANCE CELEBRITIES It was a fun night of dancing, when some of the crew from Pivot met some of the brilliant dancers from So You Think You Can Dance - Demi, Graeme, Henry, Camilla, Vanessa, Jemma, J.D. and Laura - Plus Choreographers Nacho Pop, Jason Gilkison and of course - SUPPLE!! 	BOLLYOOD WORKSHOP Pivot welcomed O'Neil on 27 April for a Bollywood Workshop. Bollywood is a fun, silly over the top style from the world famous Indian Bollywood movies. This style is perfect for all levels, including absolute beginners. O'Neil is a master Bollywood dancer having performed all over Sydney and Newcastle. Let this fun, charismatic dancer take you through a routine with all the glamour of a bollywood film. Stay tuned for more workshops!

	The sexiest new dance style is here! PERMANENTLY!!!!!! JAMAICAN DANCEHALL Want to feel like you're on a tropical holiday...this great fun dance style is an amazing workout, and really helps to loosen the hips! After such a massive response to the 2 hour workshop taught by the beautiful Ishtar on Sunday 16th Mar, we have decided to make it a permanent class on our timetable. 	YOU SAW HIM ON SYTYCD - & HE WAS HERE AT PIVOT!! see pics IT'S SUPPLE!! Thursday 10th April!! You saw him choreograph a routine for Rhys & Kate on So You Think You Can Dance - Sunday 30th March - Then he came to Pivot to show his moves to a captive audience of about 100 to learn some of his moves. Click here for pics He is the only Australian choreographer to have won award in the UK and is predicted to further revolutionize the dance scene/industry down under and inspire many. In fact Supple's award for most innovative choreography in film and television came from the very same organisation issuing the major prize for the winner of Aussie version of SYTYCD.
	BREAKDANCE WORKSHOP - SUNDAY 30th MARCH If you've always been curious about this incredibly popular style, now's the time to try it learn funky fun moves with Swipa. Justin aka Swipa, is fun and friendly and teaches a non intimidating, great workout! Guys breakdance was made for you! Girls, it's always fun to do something made for the boys Breakdance is a great way to improve your strength, think of the biceps you'll have! and to learn some fun party tricks. 	DANCING UP A STORM IN MEXICO Andy and Kaeyla being happy and loving life in Mexico, they are now working for Barcello Resorts in a show with 15 other dancers. It's a huge complex and they have their own fun staff quarters, just like dirty dancing!!
	BOLLYWOOD COMES TO POKOLBIN The Bollywood gig was a corporate show at the Sebel Kirton Park Hotel, Pokolbin. Rebecca, Bec, Jackie and Candice, performed Bollywood dances in full costume to the great entertainment of guests. Click here to see pics

	PIVOT PARTY'S AT FINNEGANS Pivot Studio hosts a night of fun & dancing at MJ Finnegans Irish Pub. Entry $10. The nights happen every couple of months or so & is a perfect opportunity to try out your dancing feet, practice your moves or just watch. 	OPTUS & A PIVOT PENGUIN Congratulations to Andy Burrows who we sent down to an audition in Sydney for an Optus commercial, he was selected out of 250 people to be a giant Hip Hop Penguin!!! Yep a giant Penguin, ha ha how great is that! So keep your eye out for that TV ad.
	COKE & PIVOT Congratulations to Bec Pollard, Rebecca Hall and Kaeyla Wilmoth who were all chosen to perform for Coca Cola at at large event held at NIDA last week in Sydney. The same group including Jamie Comyns also performed at a function at Crown Plaza hotel at Pokolbin. Click here to see pics
